If you want to end slavery, you must first understand it. That means you have to look back to the ancient world at its origins and trace it forward to where those slavers operate today. They’re the ones running the university, and they are anti-Capitalists, not out of concern for human dignity but rather because its a threat to their business model. So they tend to encourage Communist thinking because it does fail and ends up making everyone poor, setting the stage for slavers to take over.
Those academics who have become mesmerized by communism, postmodernism, Critical Race Theory and other forms of identity politics may have good intentions, but they are losing sight of the big picture. While America did engage in the slave trade for a short stint, its over now. America is a net gain for the world in the fight against oppression. We’re the ones doing the most work in the world, addressing human trafficking in all of its forms.
While most slave owners where white in America, not all were, and most white people had nothing to do with the institution. Many white people were even indentured servants to pay for their tickets coming from the old world to the new one. So we are not completely free from the negative effects of slavery, either. And we generally tend to agree with the idea that slavery is wrong.
Lincoln is the one who wrote the Emancipation Proclamation, making the slave trade illegal. He was the definitive Republican Representative. And he is the most widely read biography in American Culture. He defines what it means to have an American Identity. He is our collective hero in America, and should be the hero the world over in the example he set. But the Southern plantation owners hated him for doing it, they hated the North generally, because they were winning in terms of economic development.
I hope this train of thought explains a lot for our modern political climate, especially in terms of understanding how the Civil War is still happening, and primarily in the halls of academia, and why our academics have been tricked into serving the sorts of agenda they believe themselves to be fighting against. I also hope they can see the errors of their ways and come back to supporting the principle of Free Speech and put an end to cancel culture and their snowflake mentality.
